Welcome to Musica Humana Research

This is the official website for the Musica Humana research project, which since 1998 has been working with creation and scientific documentation of a specially-designed music programme for the treatment of patients.

On this web site you can read about the background for this project and the activities this interdisciplinary project has been occupied with in the period from 1998 to 2007: to create, research and implement a new specially developed music-sound environment made especially for therapeutic use in the healthcare sector.

The clinical studies carried out by Musica Humana, using specially designed music, have focused on the most sensitive group: seriously ill patients in hospitals. Subsequent experience has shown that this music, which by composer Niels Eje has been named MusiCure, also has a positive effect on a much larger target group. This include thousands of private users who use the music on a daily basis for inspiration, regeneration, and as a tool for relieving daily stress.
